THINK PINK:

There are many companies, institutions and professional sports teams who have joined the venerable cause of promoting breast cancer awareness.

I recently saw a golf tournament for the LPGA where all the bunkers were filled with pink sand.  ( A brilliant promotional  idea!) The NFL and other  professional leagues are now prominently featuring the pink ribbon showing support.

THE PINK PANTHER

paula and panther Process Pink: Help Kiss Breast Cancer Goodbye! The LPGA’s Pink Panther is Paula Creamer, but this fall, Boca Raton’s Morgan Pressel went pink to support breast-cancer prevention. Polo Ralph Lauren designed a “Morgan” shirt for Pressel to wear during Breast Cancer Awareness Month in October. Shirt sales will benefit the Boca Raton (Fla.) Community Hospital where her late mother, Kathy, was treated for breast cancer.

“It’s truthfully all about the cause, which is what is so great about the shirt,” Pressel wrote in an email. “Black and pink are great colors, so the shirt looks awesome.” The 19-year-old major champion (Kraft Nabisco) and Solheim Cup star (she beat Annika Sorenstam in singles) lost her mother to breast cancer in 2003. This dreaded disease affects more than 200,000 women each year.
